Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Healthcare Professionals is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Healthcare Professionals acknowledges that in the year 2022, our carbon reduction plan must begin with limited data availability. The journey towards comprehensive carbon emissions reporting and reduction will require a phased approach, with an unwavering commitment to gathering more accurate data over time. Our commitment extends beyond 2022, with the goal of achieving extensive data collection and more precise emissions recording in the future.

Phase 1: Starting with Available Data (2022)

1.1 Carbon Footprint Assessment

Our initial assessment in 2022 is based on readily available data sources, such as:

  • Utility Bills: We will utilize energy and water bills to estimate energy consumption and related emissions for Scope 2.

  • Office Operations: We will gather data on office size, location, and basic equipment to make rough estimates.

  • Employee Commuting: We will encourage employees to self-report their commuting distances and modes.

1.2 Estimation and Approximation

Given the limitations of the data, we will acknowledge that our initial emissions data is an approximation. It will be used as a baseline to kick-start our carbon reduction initiatives.

Phase 2: Commitment to Data Gathering (Ongoing)

2.1 Enhanced Data Collection

Starting from 2023, we are committed to investing in more comprehensive data collection efforts:

  • Smart Meters: Implement smart meters in our offices to monitor real-time energy consumption.

  • Employee Surveys: Conduct annual surveys to collect more accurate data on employee commuting habits.

  • Supplier Engagement: Collaborate with suppliers to obtain detailed data on the emissions associated with the products and services we procure.

2.2 Technology Integration

Leveraging technology, we will integrate data collection and reporting systems to streamline the process. This will include the use of software tools and platforms designed for emissions tracking and reporting.

Phase 3: Refining and Comprehensive Reporting

3.1 Quarterly Reviews

We will conduct quarterly reviews of our carbon reduction progress, using the improved data and data collection methods to refine our emissions calculations.

3.2 Increasing Accuracy

As our data becomes more accurate, we will refine our emissions calculations in Scopes 1, 2, and 3. This will enable us to set more precise reduction targets and measure our impact effectively.

Phase 4: Long-Term Commitment

Our commitment extends beyond 2022. In the coming years, we will:

  • Set long-term carbon reduction goals.

  • Continue to collaborate with suppliers who prioritize sustainability.

  • Invest in innovative technologies and practices that further reduce our carbon footprint.

Healthcare Professionals understands that data limitations exist in the initial phase of our carbon reduction plan for 2022. However, we remain steadfast in our commitment to obtaining more accurate data and embracing transparent emissions reporting. By doing so, we aim to reduce our environmental impact and align our actions with our core values of transparency, honesty, and ethics while securing a sustainable future for all stakeholders.
